SUCCESS STORY OF JTDS GROUP FORMATION

This is a story of Newstar Youth Group of a Remote village khawaskhijri at Bhandra Block, Lohardaga district, Jharkhand. Before joining the group, people were only dependent on Agriculture and they had to face many difficulties in making their living. One day JTDS got information about them and they explained that how they will facilitate them by empowering Groups in income generation, villagers showed their interest and ten youth together decided to form a group. They hold frequent meetings under the direction of JTDS FNGO Officials, they got seed capital of 20 thousand rupees and the group immediately working on a plans to establish a tent house. They purchased equipment of total 15 thousand rupees of a mini tent house. There was no provision of tent material around the village so far, that’s the biggest reason the idea of establishing a tent house would have seems to be very successful. People are also getting benefited by having tent equipment
at very low rental cost. The group earns about 1000/- per booking, they are now expecting a good profit from this in future. The Group is now becoming empowered and aware through the efforts of JTDS and they are also reaping other benefits through it.
