Overview:
The Digital Learning Centre in Sagalee, established by Citizens Foundation with the support of HDFC Bank Parivartan, under the project Holistic Rural Development. This Digital Learning Centre is the only facility in the area dedicated to computer education. Equipped with 5 computers, a projector, and an inverter, the centre provides essential technology training to local residents for a nominal fee of 100 INR per student. This facility aims to bridge the digital divide by offering basic computer skills training to both students and elderly residents.
Impact:
The center has successfully trained 10 students, who have completed the program with a solid understanding of basic computer functions. Students have learned to use Microsoft Word and Excel, gaining skills that are valuable for both academic and personal use. This knowledge includes creating and formatting documents, as well as managing and analysing data in spreadsheets.
Additionally, the center has provided computer training to elderly women who previously had no experience with digital technology. This training has enabled them to perform essential tasks such as browsing the internet, managing emails, and using online services, thereby enhancing their ability to stay connected and access information.
